A controversial Walgreens proposed for the Dilworth neighborhood won a key recommendation tonight from the Zoning Committee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission.

The developer has "made several changes to address concerns, including adding a sitting area with a fountain and benches and a vertical “green wall” with vegetation at the front of the building." Given that a drive-thru is still planned, this is "urban lipstick on a suburban pig," as this blog notes about a similar project.
